A sauna downstairs

1 min The electrical panel went in two years before the sauna it was for. I finally asked for the heater to be wired. It works great.

A cedar sauna with a glass front standing on a concrete basement floor between a painted post and a plastic-sheeted wall, a bare bulb above it.

The sauna, assembled, in the basement.

The electricians put a 100-amp panel in the house a couple of years before there was anything to connect to it. Its purpose and its placement were for a sauna that did not exist yet.

The sauna is a cedar kit with a glass front, and it stands on the basement floor between a post and the drain. I assembled it. Once it was standing I wrote to the same electricians to say I was ready for the other half: the heater needed wiring, the panel was already there, and I thought it should be a straightforward job. I attached photographs of the sauna, the heater, and what the heater wanted, and asked for a quote and a time. They came that week.

It has power now, and it works great.
